Social Media Marketing – What Is It?

First, let me define social spaces.  A social space online is any place where you can have a two way conversation with your potential client, customer or business partner.  For this post, we will use the term “prospect” to cover all of those.  So, anywhere online where you can go and have a two way conversation with a prospect is considered a social space.

In order for your social space marketing to work properly, you must define one piece, one social space, as your “central hub”.  Your social space marketing should look like a wheel.  One thing that all wheels need is a center piece to keep everything together.  I use facebook as my central hub.  All other social spaces link back to facebook.

Here is what my marketing wheel looks like:

My two favorite methods of driving traffic to my central hub are OPB (Other People’s Blogs) and forums.

What social spaces are included in your marketing wheel?  What is your central hub?  What is your favorite method of driving traffic to your central hub?  Leave me a comment below.
